Escape to the Mountains!

After working with many amazing professionals over the last few months, I’ve been really wanting to put together my own Editorial Spread! I was very inspired after having worked with the talented Kim Maru, of Maru Photography www.maruphoto.ca…so I decided to pursue the idea!

I decided to source local for everything, and keep the shoot close to home!
I’ve always loved the grandness of the Fairmont Chateau Whistler, and they are always so welcoming and professional!
It was my first choice and only choice for the setting of this Photo Shoot.
We shot on location in their lobby, the Mallard Lounge and at the base of Blackcomb, right outside their doors.
If you haven’t stayed at the Fairmont in Whistler, you haveto, it is a majestic place that you won’t soon forget!  www.fairmont.com/whistler
I’ve known Andy Dittrich www.grip.tv for over 10 yrs, and he’s always supported my creative side, so he came on board right away, and lucky for me, as he’s very busy traveling internationally for National Geographic TV. I needed his creative talent and expert eye in order to help me capture this shoot perfectly! He brings professionalism and experience, and just being in his presence, you know he’s an expert!

Trish James from StyleZone Squamish www.facebook.com/SquamishClothing, she’s a huge supporter of everyone in her community, and she’s always got new clothes in, so she was more than willing to support my shoot. My model had 4 changes of clothes all provided from her store. She’s got something for everyone, and travels to LA quite frequently to bring in new fashions.
Jill Dickson, was my model, and she was the perfect choice, naturally beautiful, inside and out! I loved her freckles and gorgeous red hair! She photographed amazing and you’d think she’s done this sort of thing before, but it was her first time!

It was my first attempt as Creative Director, and after a carefully thought out plan of attack, I couldn’t of been happier for how it turned out!!

As an artist we are always searching for new opportunities, and I wanted to do this shoot to open up new opportunities for myself!

I was thrilled this morning to see my shoot featured in Real Weddings Magazine www.realweddings.ca !!

I can’t wait to start working on the next one!!
